A Little Late, But...

Listening to: The Line by Battles.

I realized earlier that I forgot to post it on my blog; my laptop broke last weekend, and so updates for my stories are going to be a little bit slower as I now need to share a computer with my parents - though, so far, they are being quite generous in the fact that they haven't asked me to get off it so that they can use it (but, then again, they are more interested in television than I am, so...).

I ordered a new one on Tuesday, and I guesstimated that it will get here in two weeks. It's going to be a slow process - the waiting for it, I mean. I never realized how hard it would be to go without it. Well, at least I am catching up on my reading list now. I've gone through eight books in the past week.

Listening to: Master of Puppets by Metallica.

I have finally finished my novel for NaNoWriMo! Unfortunately, the completed chapters for Curse of Life will not be published for a long time to come, because I have to really go through it and edit it like crazy. I really rushed to get in done within the month. It isn't a main priority anymore for me, so I will be reading through it and editing it in any spare time I have. I will be more focusing on my fanfics, especially A Lion Sleeps and Soul Fliers.

As I promised on Twitter, chapter five of Soul Fliers will be up before the weekend is out, but I am not certain on whether or not I am going to be taking it off hiatus. It has taken me a long time to write this, and so I think it will remain on hiatus until I really get the flow going again.

Sleeping Lions

Listening to: The Hanging Tree by Violet Badger.

I have finished my first Strange Imprints universe story, Play the Fox, and I have posted the next one, A Lion Sleeps. Here is the banner for A Lion Sleeps:

A Lion Sleeps can be read here: XlaraC - A Lion Sleeps

Summary: Bella hasn't changed in a century; she's been waiting for her mate. When Edward comes across the scent of an African Lion, which shouldn't be wandering the forests of Forks, their worlds change.

EDIT: New banner for Play the Fox.

Congratulations! Due to a recent purchase, you've won a trip to nowhere!

Listening to The Act of Breathing In by Colfax.

For those of you curious, the title was a little thing about stupid telemarketers who somehow got a hold of my cell phone number.

A couple of things I need to remember to talk about, so I am going to be doing a list.

1) My NaNoWriMo novel, Curse of Life, is going well. It is now up on Fiction Press, so you can head on over to to read it. Let me know what you think!

2) I have recently (okay, like five minutes ago) added a Facebook page to my ever-growing list of ways to contact me. I'm going to hate myself for having all these things to update soon, I'm sure of it. Anyways, you can get to said page by going to

3) Soul Fliers is not going well, but I am trying my hardest to get out of this rut, I promise. You can look forward to a chapter before the month is out!

4) I am currently working on writing music. Interesting, isn't it? When I get my YouTube profile all up and ready for viewing, it may be possible to get some of my music there. Of course, though, you won't see me in said video. I'll block myself out with a picture or something (internet anonymity, and all that). I don't know how far I'll go with writing, I may just work on covers of songs for awhile.

Okay, I think that's all. I'll kick myself if I remember something that I forgo- oh wait!

5) I am also working on creating designs (with Photoshop, of course) and am thinking about making some t-shirt logos. But, I'm wondering if anybody would be interested in them - and I don't know how much money they would be, so don't ask. I haven't really looked that far into it.

I am now positive that that is all, so, there you go.

NaNoWriMo, P2

Listening to: Master of Puppets by Metallica.

NaNoWriMo begins in a little over ten days. I am so excited for it! If you haven't signed up, I recommend you head on over to and sign up now - you won't want to miss it.

Here is a synopsis of the novel, Curse of Life, I am writing this year:

Emma Warren's older brothers are dead, and everybody thinks that she will be next. Through the publicity of something known as 'The Warren Curse', she meets Conner Ryles, a twenty-two year old who is more of a child than a man. He helps her through it all, and does everything he can to be there for her for everything. But sometimes it isn't enough.

And an excerpt:

Somebody once told me that the purpose of life is to be happy. They were wrong. With my brothers gone, and the threat of death hanging over my head like a sharp-edged sword, I wouldn't say that happiness is something regular in my life. In fact... I barely know what happiness is. Such is life - well, my life.

Listening to: Turn the Page by Metallica.

Eleven days - or something like that - until the beginning of National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo!)

I am participating in it with my novel called Curse of Life, which tells the tale of the hardships of a young girl named Emma Warren. You can find the front and back cover (the back cover includes a sort-of-synopsis of the story, almost like and excerpt from the novel except I'm not really putting the exact words in the novel) on my devianART profile - the link to which is somewhere over there --->.

Who else is participating in NaNoWriMo?

Listening to: Loverman by Metallica.

Though it is still in the works, I have begun a sort of role-playing game forum. If you are interested in checking it out, you can find it at There are 37 characters in total, and so far I am the only one - which basically means that there are 36 open characters. Since the forum isn't completely up yet, if you would like information that you currently can't find, you can email me with your questions at

Also, if you are interested in being on of the characters on the forum, email me for more information, subscribe to the forum, and then I will make sure it says that you have taken that character. I haven't figured out how everything works yet, so be patient with me, please.

Hopefully, this goes well - and I don't get bored of it to soon. As for my FanFiction, Soul Fliers is still on hold, and Play the Fox is going pretty good. I'm glad you guys like it!

Listening to: What Part of Forever by Cee-lo Green.

School started two days ago - so far I enjoy my courses. Of course, this means that I won't be able to write/update as much as I did/have been during the summer. I still have Writer's Block, so there is that not going for me...

I will, of course, try my best to update as often as I can.

Anyways... Been hanging with friends pretty much all week, and my piano and guitar lessons begin next week. Can't wait! Having guitar lessons means that I won't have as much time on Wednesdays, though, so there is a downfall to learning how to play an instrument. Band rehearsal is tomorrow, and... ya...

Not much else to say.

Listening to: Boston by Augustana.

Tomorrow marks the beginning of another year of school, which means that I won't have as much time to write as I would like. I wish I could just stay home all day and write, but it's kind of the law that I have to go to school. I don't really feel like breaking the law.

Random note - my parents just baked a cake; it smells really good.

Anyways, I will try my best to get what I can done, and I will write during classes if I have the time. This semester, I have English, Music, Travel & Tourism, and Science. I'm really looking forward to it. Don't be too disappointed if I don't update as much as I have been this summer - I still can't really believe that Tier in Geist is finished.

On the note of Tier in Geist, I am working on choosing a song that will be the 'official song', as it is, for the story. I have already chosen one for Soul Fliers (Soul Meets Body by Death Cab for Cutie) and The Game (Hey, Now by Augustana), and now I only need one for Tier in Geist. Hopefully, I will find one soon.

Listening to: Oh, Death by Jen Titus.

The title of this blog post is a title of a book - Nation by Terry Pratchett. Now, normally, I have pretty good opinions about books - actually, I haven't ever actually read a book/story that I can say I outright hated/hate.

Until now.

This book is just plain... horrible. No offence to you if you have read it and like it, I just... well... don't. For one, it was incredibly hard to get into... and the chapters were so long. Chapter two began on page 28, chapter three around page 55 or something like that... I am not a fan of large chapters. Now, Terry Pratchett did create a great alternate universe - so much like our own, and yet so very different - I just find that he didn't... display it well enough. I think this will be the one time that I don't send you a recommendation to read a book.

This blog post, I am going to be begging you (through the words I am typing) not to read Nation. Please... save yourself all the suffering and regret, and leave the book on the shelf... just walk by it at the library or book store, it is not worth your time. I only read it because I promised my school librarian that I would and review it for her over the summer - I now wish I had chosen a different book.

Anyways, now that that is over; Soul Fliers isn't getting anywhere, and it seems that my plan to get over my Writer's Block by writing The Game isn't going very well because I find it hard to begin writing the first chapter. It will be awhile before you get an update for that one, so hold on and wait for me - I promise I won't just leave you hanging.

Personality Test

Listening to: Enter Sandman by Metallica.

I recently took what is either called the Myers-Briggs Personality Test, or the Jung Personality Test. I'm not completely sure which one it is - I've heard it being called both of those names, but the website says Jung, so I'm going to call it Jung.

Now, Jung isn't like those classic personality tests where you answer a few questions and they tell you what kind of person you are - example: naturalist; Jung goes on a 50/50 basis, with four categories: Introverted vs. Extroverted, Sensing vs. Intuitive, Thinking vs. Feeling, and Perceiving vs. Judging. Basically, they take those categories and ask you 48 questions - 49 if you count the 'Are you male or female?' one at the beginning - and choose your type. In my case, my type was 'INTJ', which stood for Introverted-Intuitive-Thinking-Judging. What this means is that I am more of a private person, I see things more often than I 'feel' things, I trust my mind more than my heart, and I judge people instead of getting to know them. This particular match - 'INTJ' - means the following: "Mastermind" . Introverted intellectual with a preference for finding certainty. A builder of systems and the applier of theoretical models. Also, according to Jung, 2.3% of the population are 'Mastermind's, like myself.

Now, I will admit that I like being labelled at a 'Mastermind', and also that basically everything it told me about my personality was true. I recommend you all take it as well, so head on over there and try it out; it only takes, like, five minutes, and it's interesting. Hopefully you guys get results that don't bother you, or anything like that.

Here's the link to Jung, and have fun! -

If You Could Only See

Title - song by Tonic.

The writing hasn't been going so well lately, but I'm trying. It seems I have, once again, fallen into a hole of a deep, black muck - more commonly known as 'Writer's Block'. It's a demon, is what it is. Wish it would just go away - I want to write, I really do. I have an idea of what I want the next chapter of Soul Fliers to be like, and of how to write the next outtake for Tier in Geist, but it's just not coming; everything I type just seems so forced, and forced writing is never good.

Soul Fliers may be put on hold for a while... a couple of days, or maybe I'll find some more inspiration today and be able to spit out the fourth chapter. We'll see, I guess. I did have the next three chapters finished, but my laptop did this little thing called 'crashing', and I lost them. Seriously, I didn't lose anything except those three chapters because I was an idiot and left the word documents open while I was downloading music. Too much stuff open = a crashing laptop. A little advice - you want a laptop, don't buy an HP. They suck. A lot.

I'm going to go and work on chapter four of Soul Fliers; hopefully something will pop out of me, or I will remember what I wrote in it before I lost it. Again, we'll see, I guess.

Title - song by Kings of Leon.

Today, I signed up for a Twitter account. So if you would like to follow me on Twitter, my username is - of course - XlaraC.

I'm new to Twitter, so forgive me if I forget to add any updates I might have there. I've avoided Twitter in the past, but I think it's kind of like blogging, just in smaller, simpler text. Hopefully, I'll remember to update that, as well.

In Love With The 80's

Title - song by Relient K.

I posted the first chapter of Soul Fliers. Hopefully, you guys like it as much as I do, and hopefully you'll be patient with updates. I plan to update more often than I did with Tier in Geist, but I can make no promises. I cannot predict the future. I will try my best to stick to the schedule I will no doubt set for myself sometime soon, but we'll see how long that lasts.

Here's a link to the first chapter of Soul Fliers, as well as the blog:

Apocalypse, Please

Title - song by Muse.

My story, Tier in Geist, is almost finished, I am sad to say. The epilogue will be up soon, and I have already written a few outtakes. Email me at if you have any ideas for either Tier in Geist outtakes or stories/oneshots you would like me to write - I'll try my best with them.

I am troubled with which story I will be putting up next - I know I said Moonlight, but I'm not quite ready to venture back into that world right now. Sure, I've edited what I already have, but I don't want to force my writing. That will have to wait. I've been working on a story called Soul Fliers for the Twilight fandom, and I am almost positive that I am going to be putting that one up. It definitely has a soft spot in my heart right now.

Hopefully, you'll enjoy Soul Fliers as much as I do, and all my hard work doesn't go to waste with writing it.

Time Stands Still

Title: song by The All-American Rejects.

I created a blog for my story, Tier in Geist. You can go to it through the FanFiction page.

The thirteenth chapter should be up sometime tomorrow, if not then by Tuesday it should be finished and edited. I am going to try to spend more time updating my blogs and my FanFiction, and of course I will try my hardest to finish Tier in Geist. My story, Moonlight, is also gaining a lot of attention from me as it will be the next story that I put up. If you don't remember what Moonlight is about, here is the summary:

Bella is a werewolf, with a few differences. She is being over-worked by Sam, and meets the Cullens one night while patrolling. Will she be able to stay away from them?

I'm thinking of changing the summary, and here is what I think I will put it up as. The story is changing quite a bit, as like most writers, I have matured since I first started writing.

To imprint on the enemy is insane. But since when had anything Bella ever done made sense? Edward loves her, so why doesn't she just give in to her feelings?

Tell me what you think, and remember me.

Title - Song by Fanfarlo

I don't know how many times I will apologize in the future, nor do I know how many times I have apologized in the past. It seems I have apologized a great many times, the words 'I'm sorry' have left my lips during conversations with my mother, my father, my brother, my friends, my animals... almost everybody I have ever met I have apologized to. It seems I keep apologizing, therefore I must not really mean it. It makes me feel selfish... this time, I'm not going to apologize.

I have updated Tier in Geist, and the editing for my other stories is going quite well. I have even begun to fully write out the plot lines for each one, and hopefully I will be able to return to them soon. However, I will not feel the need to put the stories back up until Tier in Geist is finished and locked away in a little vault in the back of my mind. I promise I will get back to them, but not now.

Title - song by Aerosmith.

(In my country, Eclipse is released tomorrow! Woot! Too bad I'll be working...)

I updated Tier in Geist yesterday (sorry for the delay) and I will try to get another chapter up soon. As I have a habit of breaking my promises, I won't promise to have one up. I'll just get one up when I can. I am now on summer break, however, so I'll be able to update more often, not counting when I'm working or volunteering. As I've said before - I think I mentioned it, anyway - I already have all the chapters lined out, but I still have a habit of adding more stuff in, so I'm not sure how quickly I'll be able to type them out.

Just enjoy what I can give you, I guess.

Rag Doll

Title - Song by Aerosmith

Yesterday, I deleted all of my stories except for Tier in Geist. I have began rewriting all of them, but Tier in Geist is still my number one priority. I'm not sure yet where exactly I'm going to go with it, but I estimate to finish it in a month or two... I hope. I would like to work on my other stories this summer.

I updated Tier in Geist last night, with chapter eight. Chapter nine will be up maybe today or tomorrow; I\m already about half way done, but since I am working on rewriting my other stories, it may take a little bit longer than it usually does to finish and edit this chapter.

Making a Memory

Title - Song by Plain White T's

I sincerely apologize for the lack of updates, but it is nearing exam time and everything, so I've been studying and doing all of my final projects. Joy. (Could you hear the sarcasm?)

Anyways, I take back what I said about regular updates of Tier in Geist. I'm sorry, but I always forget about it. I swear I have ADD when I'm writing stuff, because I always think of new ideas before I can even fully contemplate the one I started with. I have like 20 Fics I'm probably never going to publish because after writing a chapter or two I lost interest.

I wish I could just somehow write an entire story in one day... I might even delete some of them, and put them back on when I'm finished writing them. Of course, I would only update them like every second day or something, just so that I wouldn't put all the chapters up on one day. In fact, I think that is what I am going to do. Everyone, prepare for AN's on all of my stories except (of course) Tier in Geist and my Oneshot, The Unwilling Doors. Those will stay on.

Plus, since I started these stories, my writing style has changed, and I will probably end up rewriting half of what I have already.

Once again, I am really sorry to everyone.

Kisses to All, XlaraC

Just Like Me

Title: Song by Paramore - you should listen to it!

Okay, terribly sorry for not updating lately... I've been logged down with homework. Finals projects are coming up, so I have a culminating activity to do in practically all of my subjects... I don't think I have to do one in Math... I'll have to find out...

Anyways, I updated Tier in Geist like, two minutes ago... I'll try and update more regularly... already working on the eighth chapter, so.

Head on over to Blade-Corey-Brandon  's profile... amazing writer, read and review on both of his stories. They're called When the Hearse Goes By and One Corner of the Universe.

I Will Write You A Song

I am going to have to spend all day tomorrow working on new chapters... will have those new promised three chapters up by Wednesday at the latest.

Sorry, I know I said by Sunday but I don't have time to type them up... I know what will be happening. After Wednesday, I am going to update every Sunday, Wednesday, and Friday.

I Hate This Song

Title - song by Secondhand Serenade.

Sorry for the lack of updates - I promise you that I will have three new chapter for Tier in Geist out before midnight on Sunday! I will not forget to work on it this time!

Mostly, I just wanted to recommend a new FanFiction author - his pen name is Blade-Corey-Brandon, and I love both of his stories - 'When the Hearse Goes By' and 'One Corner of the Universe'. You should go check them out, add them to your favourites stories list, add him as a favourite author, and don't forget to review!

Much Obliged,

Blood-Spattered Sundress

It's nice enough to wear a dress outside! But, I'm sorry to say that my sundress actually doesn't have any blood on it. :(

Anyways, I know I have been seriously neglecting fan fiction, but every time I set some time aside to specifically work on finishing Tier in Geist, something comes up. My brother is visiting this week, so I am spending as much time as possible with him before he leaves and I won't see him until like the end of the summer.

I will try updating when I can. I'm sorry that it's taking so long, but I need to be in the mood to write... I'll see how much I can come up with this weekend.

Tuesday, April 20, 2010

I know I promised that I would update before Sunday, but I had this music thing to go to on Friday and by the time I got back I was exhausted - not to mention I ended up getting the flu while I was gone. And then on Sunday one of my teachers decided to bring us out to clean up a section of our city... that was enjoyable...

I will be trying my best to update, but I do still have homework. As said before, I will mainly be focusing in Tier in Geist, and will work my way towards the others.

Famous Last Words

First off, I would like to apologize for my serious lack of updates lately... big English project, enough said.

I am going to try to update as much as I can before the end of the week (so, basically, Sunday).

I have decided on which two stories I am going to focus on for now - Moonlight and Tier in Geist. After I finish one of them (I still don't know how long they are going to be) I will start to focus on Running and Flying. My other stories (It All Started With An E-Mail - You're Not A Person, You're A Disease - After Twilight Comes The Night - A Different Love Story) will be put on hold until I have time to focus on them.

Hope you enjoy my next updates!

Sorry, I'm too lazy to give you a 'Quote of the Day' - but, I will recommend a book - 13 Reasons Why by Jay Asher = Awesome Book! :)

This Is How I Disappear

Title: Song by My Chemical Romance. I absolutely love it. Listening to it right now.

Anyways, I have decided on something. I will be taking down the poll on my profile page on FanFiction - I will be marking down the results, but as recently I have gained many new ideas as to where I want the plot for Tier In Geist to go, I will be working on finishing that story first and foremost. The others will come in due time.

However, that does not mean I will completely stop the others. No, this means that they will simply not be my number one priority - Tier In Geist is and will be until I finish it, or am incredibly close to finishing it.

Something for you to think about : If all is not lost, then where is it?

Go Ask Alice

Just to tell you, the title of this blog post (and the blog post before this one) is the title of a really good book that I recommend. So, look up 'The Book of Michael' by Lesley Choyce or 'Go Ask Alice' by Anonymous. Really great books.

Anywho, I know it had been a while since I have updated, but school started up again this week - had two really big projects due, and then a couple of tests to study for... fun!

So, I have part of a new chapter for Tier In Geist finished, and I will get the rest done tonight, and this weekend I will write some more, but I am not quite sure which stories I want to work on.

Tier In Geist will be updated tonight, though! As I already said... I am really bored right now. And I have a headache. And I don't understand French. And am making my headache worse by attempting to translate something in French into English because Google translator won't translate it properly. Stupid Google translator. Stupid headache. Stupid Tylenol that I can never find when I have a headache.

Yeah. I have a lot of problems right now.

The Book Of Michael

Okay, sorry.

I know I promised, but I didn't know that people were coming over to my house today. I got about half of a chapter finished for Tier In Geist, but then I had to 'entertain the company'.

Tomorrow I should start getting back on track with my updates.

Sorry, no quote today. Don't feel up to it.

Lucky Charms

Again, the title of the post is for what I ate today. (They're Magically Delicious!) :)

Today, no matter what, I am going to post a new chapter for Tier In Geist before midnight, even though I really should be working on my project. I feel bad that I promised one yesterday but didn't get time to do it.

Tomorrow, I am going out of town for the day and I don't know when I will be back, so I most likely won't be able to update anything, but before midnight on Sunday I am going to try to update Moonlight and After Twilight Comes The Night, and maybe a few others; maybe I will make it my personal goal to update every story before Sunday is over! :P You never know!

P.S. I'm having tacos tonight ;)

Twilight Quote Of The Day :
Please don't get all weepy on me.

 - Bella Swan, Eclipse, Chapter 16, P.352

Update : Two things: 1., My parents managed to bully me into writing my english project instead, so Tier In Geist shall have to wait until Sunday. and 2., unfortunately the plans to have tacos were put on hold, so I pizza instead. :(

Alphaghetti Soup

Well, to explain the title, I ate some alphaghetti soup this morning, as sort of meal. It was kind of inbetween breakfast and lunch time, so does that mean you call it brunch? I never fully understood that concept.

Today, I have three things I am working on; unfortunately, only one of them has to do with FanFiction. I am going to update Tier In Geist sometime before midnight, hopefully.

Other than that, I have an English project I am have to work on for school, and I want to get a bit farther in my novel.

So, I want you all to enjoy your day; the sun is shining brightly where I am!

Twilight Quote Of The Day :
He swam to France?

Update : I didn't have enough time to get to work on Tier In Geist very much, so that will have to wait until tomorrow.

The Possibilities Are Endless

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Okay, now nobody can tell me I didn't wish anybody a happy day.

Anyways, on with the blog post. (Did you know that on average, 100 people choke to death on ballpoint pens every year? Sorry, had to put that in. It's been in my head for a while now. I'm just full of useless facts.)

Now, I am really going to start the post.

So, yesterday I updated the three stories I said I was going to update; Tier In Geist, Running and Flying, and I barely managed to squeeze out around 1,000 words for Moonlight.

Today, unfortunately, I am not really in the mood to update. If I feel up to it, though, I will try to work on a new chapter for either Moonlight or Tier In Geist.

So, if I do get working on either of those, they will be finished before midnight.

And, yes, I happen to be wearing green today. Not much, but it's green, and it counts towards a good St. Patrick's Day attitude.

New Story

This makes me feel so bad.

For about a month now, I have been working on this story that I happen to like. I have two full chapters written out, as well as the character profiles for the main characters.

Now, here is the summary I have for the story : Shayne and Edward, from two different supernatural families, meet online, unknowingly bringing together four perfect pairs of soul mates. What happens when they meet in real life?

The main characters, as you can probably tell, will be Edward and Shayne (Shayne is a girl, BTW). Yes, I have replaced Bella once again, but for once I haven't replaced her with Royal. Shayne will have a lot of the same characteristics as Royal, though. I just have a love for the name Shayne right now, I guess.

Anyways, so in the beginning this story will be called 'It All Started With An E-mail', as I have used up all of my imagination for a while just trying to come up with new chapters. You can always message me on FanFiction, leave a comment on the blog, or email me if you have any good ideas for the title. Otherwise, eventually I am either just going to leave it how it is or rename it 'Untitled', which is what I have the folder labelled as on my computer.

Enjoy, and please comment on my new story!

Okay, I have this all planned out. I know probably like no one is reading this, but it gives me some comfort to think that people are looking at this. So, I'm just going to pretend I'm not talking to myself.

Anyways, back to the 'I have this all planned out part'. What do I have planned out? Well, I have my next couple of FanFic updates planned out.

Tomorrow - well, actually, later on today, so that would make it - aw, hell. Let me start that over.

Later on today, I plan on updating three stories : Tier In Geist, Running And Flying, and hopefully Moonlight. Just going to say that Moonlight is the last one I am going to work on, so that means it is the least likely to be updated in time for my little mental deadline.

I would appreciate it if more people would take the poll on my profile page, though. Not enough people for me to even think about considering closing it and going off of the results I have right now.

So, hopefully you guys will enjoy my little updates on this blog. It's kind of fun, once I got past the idea that I'm basically being a Schizophrenic.

Update : Okay, well I see that you have to have some sort of account somewhere to be able to write comments on my blog. My e-mail is  If you must - or just want to - comment, you can e-mail me or you can head on over to my FanFiction Profile and send me a message throught that.

I Have A Blog!

I feel stupid for being excited about this, but, you know...

When you have nothing better to do than sit around, typing all day, you tend to get a little excited about random stuff. Like how I practically screamed when I realized that all my current favourite songs were playing, and then I remembered that I had put my playlist on repeat. Yea... made me feel like a genius.

Anyways, I also have an account on devientART now. Though, I don't really have a clue what I'm going to do with it.

I think I should probably stop writing this and work on one of my FanFic stories... :D
